SXSW
Digital invitation project for SXSW festival.
A  festival that combines cinema, music, and stand-up performances.
SXSW is an annual festival held in Austin, Texas, and is one of the largest cultural events in the world. It brings together a diverse mix of cinema, music, stand-up performances, and a wide range of artists and styles from around the globe.
This project is a concept for a digital invitation designed to capture the vibrant, eclectic spirit of the festival. It includes an interactive lineup feature that allows attendees to explore performances, customize their schedule, and engage with the festival’s dynamic content in an intuitive and visually compelling way.

The challenge
The existing festival website is highly cluttered, making it difficult for users to easily discover performances and navigate the lineup. The overwhelming amount of information, combined with a lack of clear hierarchy and intuitive structure, creates a fragmented user experience. The challenge was to design a digital invitation and lineup tool that simplifies exploration, highlights key events, and provides a seamless way for users to plan their festival experience — all while reflecting the vibrant and eclectic character of SXSW.

The concept
The design concept focuses on clarity through visual differentiation. The three main event types — film, music, and stand-up — are each represented by distinct typography and color palettes, creating an immediate visual cue for users. In addition, a flexible filtering system allows attendees to easily sort performances by category, date, venue, or artist, helping them navigate the lineup intuitively and build a personalized festival experience.
